Poverty Impacts of India's National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme: Evidence from Andhra Pradesh

Data from some 2,500 households in Andhra Pradesh (AP) who were surveyed in 2004 before NREGS had been conceived, in 2006 when implementation had just started, and in 2008 when NREGS operated state-wide is studied. An analysis of the short term effects of NREGS is conducted.
